The CHOICE® TAC 2 is the most capable and broadly compatible push-to-talk platform for professional two-way radio users. Developed in collaboration with tactical law enforcement teams, including SRT and SWAT operators, and refined through feedback from military and public safety communicators, N-ear’s CHOICE® TAC 2 PTT was engineered to overcome the toughest interoperability, environmental, and interference challenges in modern missions.

Design

  • Universal Headset Compatibility - supports NATO U-174/U (J11) mono headsets, and  U-384 dual-comm stereo plugs when used with the included adapter, which automatically converts stereo headsets to mono-binaural output (sound in both ears) for single-radio operation.
  • Supports Both NATO and PELTOR Wiring Standards - N-ear’s new PTT automatically detects and adapts to both NATO (U.S.) and PELTOR (EU) headset wiring conventions.
  • Smart Microphone Switching - automatically identifies whether the connected headset uses a dynamic microphone, an electret microphone, or an amplified electret design. It then intelligently adjusts bias voltage, gain level, and impedance matching to ensure optimal transmit performance across all supported
    headset types.
  • Automatic Configuration and Power - No user input, switches, or batteries required.
  • Rugged, Field-Proven Design - P67-rated sealed housing resists water, dust, and chemical exposure.
  • Mission-Optimized Ergonomics - Large, glove-friendly transmit button protected by an integrated hot-mic shroud. Ambidextrous rotating clip allows flexible mounting on web gear, plate carriers, or uniforms.
  • Superior RF and EMI Immunity - suppresses interference and audio artifacts caused by TDMA burst energy and digital waveform noise from modern radios.
